Ingredient Spotlight: Abyssinian Oil

One of my favorite ingredients in the women’s Post-Shave Moisturizer is the always-fun-to-say Abyssinian oil. This exotic-sounding oil is truly exotic (it’s derived from the crambe abyssinica, an oilseed plant native to eastern Africa), but it’s also an exciting skin care ingredient.

Abyssinian oil contains a high level of long-chain monounsaturated fatty acids that contribute to its unique moisturizing properties. This is not your average ho-hum oil. Abyssinian oil zaps wrinkles and dryness, but does so without a heavy or greasy feel.

Teamed up with superstar moisturizers shea butter and Argan oil, the Post-Shave Moisturizer can go the distance with dry winter skin (tested successfully throughout an NYC winter) and sunburned skin alike (tested successfully on a Mexican vacation). And while the lotion definitely knows how to treat just-shaved legs, it also delivers when used on hands, arms and any other body part that requires superior moisturizing.
